Writing a New Chapter in History
and translate the concept into action?
The Akiva School Butterfly Garden project is one of Camp Franklin's efforts to create both an awareness of a different cultural stream in our own backyard, and to join with our Israeli friends in investing real time sweat and artistry into a meaningful cross-cultural effort. Made possible through cooperation with Rena Malkofsky-Berger on staff with the Jewish day school, Camp Franklin was able to create a living contribution and an ongoing statement of goodwill.
Through our efforts to write a new history this school was the site of last year’s mural painted by Israeli artist Hillel Lazarov In cooperation with Rena Malkofsky-Berger of Nashville’s Jewish day school, our teens invested real sweat and artistry into the creation of a beautiful butterfly garden.
