Lindisfarne

The inspiration for Lindisfarne Glen lies in the words of Psalm 23 and the invitational beauty of Sabbath. He leads us by quiet waters and makes us to lie down in green pastures. When God first made man He didn't place him in a city but in a garden.

It grew out of the stories of the original Lindisfarne off the east coast of England, where devotion, service, and love of creation were seamlessly interwoven. From its inception, this more modern Lindisfarne Glen was to be a place truly away, a place for rest, for coming aside, a sacred space for refreshment of body and soul in an atmosphere of hiddenness and quiet. Being only forty minutes from Nashville makes it both easily and quickly accessible and yet it is a world away from the demanding pace of daily life.

Lindisfarne Glen provides a unique setting to experience a weekend apart, whether for times of saturated quiet and tranquility or as a way to facilitate small business or leadership gatherings in a simple but truly inspirational setting.

The Deck on the Bluff

I built this deck in 2008 for my consulting clients. Being an altitude partner and a catalyst in igniting innovative thought and strategies for advancement in executives, entrepreneurs and really leaders of all kinds and generations, I realized I needed to provide an alternative space disconnected, distanced and demagnetized from their own work spaces.

Here in the tranquility of the world my wife and I have built just outside of Nashville, they are re-centered in their personhood, invigorated in their identity, reinforced in their purpose, and energized by the freedom that higher altitude brings. Then strategies flow easily and the previously wild and unruly commotion of possibilities and responsibilities become manageable and a sustainable flow of progressive and prioritized execution becomes clear.
Now eleven years later we have extended the deck to include an open tin roof area, further advancing an amazing experience for on-the-bluff corporate or strategic leadership gatherings.

The Writer's Cabin

We originally built this "Tree Fort" for and along with our grandchildren over a period of two years. We joined their incredible parents in teaching them not only how to dream and color outside the lines, but also to build, as they took up measuring tape, nail, hammer and drill and began to imagine roofs beyond roofs. We gathered materials left from the home we built, windows from Craig's list, stained glass from an antique business we had forty years ago and built a door from old heavy slabs of wood.

This little house is still cherished as they now visit from La Jolla and Australia, but it's time for the enchantment to be shared by others like you who might be seeking their own "Tiny House" sanctuary where your mental ceilings can be raised, French "doors" are hung sideways so they can swing open your own new views, and stained glass that is actually layered, disseminating the sun's evening light releasing your own new mental prisms.

So come to this little hidden wonder just forty minutes from Nashville and be saturated in and release your best thinking, writing and creativity. Bathroom facilities are just fifty feet away.
