Israeli Artist - Nashville Murals

Write a tagline or short description

ICCA is proud of its role in the facilitation of a significant cross cultural project utilizing the forums of education and art, in a project that made a solid contribution to each school and simultaneously built bridges where there had been none.

Challenge

We hosted here in Franklin an accomplished Israeli muralist, Hillel Lazarov, who created two phenomenal murals as a gift from the Israeli city of Shaarey-Tikva. We placed one in the Jewish community’s Akiva School, and the other in the main entrance of Franklin Christian Academy. We facilitated extensive preparatory interaction between the two schools’ officials and Mr. Lazarov, who is known in Israel for his notable murals which include cityscape projects seven stories high. Mr. Lazarov’s greatest gift, perhaps, is his ability to grasp the vision of an organization’s leadership and to capture with his art the essence of that vision and what the institution would like to say about itself.

Value

As a result of this achievement, all who enter these schools, Jewish or Christian, encounter an impacting visual image that depicts not only the heart of the school, but a reminder of the fact that we are better together.
